Interfraternity Council

The University of Mississippi

What is the Interfraternity Council?

The Interfraternity Council at the University of Mississippi exists to promote the shared interests and values of its member fraternities: leadership, service, brotherhood, and scholarship. The Interfraternity Council exists to drive the shared values of its organizations and to create better communities, better chapters, and ultimately, better men. We are dedicated to the principles that define both the university and the chapters of which we are a part. We invite you to get to know us and to learn more about what the Interfraternity Council has to offer.

Fraternity men strive to be leaders. These men hold positions within the Associated Student Body, the Student Activity Association, and various other campus organizations. We strive to be involved in all aspects of campus life and look to be represented in a diverse group of organizations.

Fraternity men excel academically. Our members are heavily involved within the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, and we often find our members on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll and Dean’s Honor Roll. Our members are seeking degrees from the E.H. Patterson School of Accountancy, the Trent Lott Leadership Institute, the Croft Institute for International Studies, the Pharmacy School, and various other prestigious programs across campus.

Fraternity men serve. We hold philanthropy events that benefit various causes that are specific to our chapters. Many of our chapters raise thousands of dollars for their causes, but we strive to go beyond our own causes. We are also involved in the community. When it comes time for the Big Event, we strive to show up and play a major role.

Fraternity men are men of strong character. We strive to achieve in all aspects of university and Greek life. We seek to uphold the University Creed and hold others to that same creed that we all believe in. With the Creed, we hold ourselves to high standards, and we expect the same from others around us.

We seek to recruit men who want to promote our shared interests and values and also uphold the University Creed. We hope that this inspires you, and we hope that you choose to join us in our causes.
