About IFC
The Interfraternity Council proudly represents sixteen fraternities that are unique in name, deeply rooted in history, and excellence-driven. Our council exists to promote the core values of our fraternities: academic excellence, diversity, equity, & inclusion, civic engagement, personal & professional development, and health & wellness, as we seek to foster and create selfless, diverse leaders among our men. On any given day, you will see IFC members actively participating around campus. We have leaders in the Associated Student Body, event coordinators for Big Event, special activity planners for Student Activities Association, and leaders for many other on-campus organizations.
While our organizations provide numerous opportunities to serve and lead, our primary goal is to mold individuals into becoming the greatest versions of themselves. We seek to give them the necessary tools so they may better the community. In our current culture, as young men face new, difficult challenges, the bond of fraternity is here to encourage and support this walk.
Purpose of IFC
The purpose of the IFC shall be to promote unity, cooperation, leadership, scholarship, service, and philanthropy amongst our member organizations, fellow Greek governing councils, The University of Mississippi, and the Oxford, Mississippi community.
The NIC Creed
We, the Interfraternity Council, exist to promote the shared interests and values of our member fraternities: leadership, service, brotherhood, and scholarship. We believe in Fraternity and that the shared values of Fraternity drive the IFC to create better communities, better chapters, and better men.
We work to advance the academic mission of the host institution, to enable fraternal organizations to grow and thrive through collaboration and teamwork, to provide an outlet for self-governance and accountability, and to model and teach ethical leadership. In a spirit of mutual support and betterment, we, the men of the Interfraternity Council, pledge to elevate the Ritual and the values of the member organizations.
