About IFC Open Bidding
IFC open bidding is when fraternities extend membership invitations outside the formal recruitment process. Open bidding begins the day after Bid Day for two weeks, then opens again the first day of classes in the spring semester for one month. Time frames are subject to change based on academic calendar and formal recruitment dates. Potential new members should communicate with the recruitment chairs of fraternities they are interested in to learn more about each chapter’s open bidding process. Note, not every fraternity will conduct open bidding.
All Potential New Members must fill out an interest form for Open Bidding. This will allow IFC to determine whether or not PNMs meet the requirements outlined below. Additionally, IFC will supply eligible PNM’s information to chapters.
Open Bidding Events
IFC will be hosting a Meet the Chapters event on January 22nd from 6-7:30pm in Student Union 326. PNMs are encouraged to attend to meet all participating chapters and established connects that can assist them in Open Bidding. Contact participating chapters to inquire about individual Open Bidding Events.
IFC Open Bidding Requirements
Students participating in Open Bidding must not have accepted a membership invitation from an IFC fraternity within the last year. Students must have a 2.80/4.00 cumulative GPA to receive a membership invitation through Open Bidding and must maintain the 2.80 cumulative GPA to be initiated into a fraternity.
